Paula Michele Adams announces the release of ‘Rhythm: Uplifting Quotes from the African American Perspective’
ISLIP, N.Y. — Paula Michele Adams has always been intrigued by quotes and gained enormous strength from them. Using them as her daily affirmations, she collected a myriad of thought-provoking quotes throughout her life. While attempting to purchase a book that highlighted quotes written by African Americans, she could not locate one. She decided to put pen to paper and compile her personal collection into an inspirational book that would not only expose the profound spirit of African American people but uplift her community and the world in “Rhythm: Uplifting Quotes from the African American Perspective” (published by Balboa Press).
This is an uplifting and thought-provoking compilation of socially relevant quotes written by African Americans who positively express how the challenges that people are experiencing now have been influenced by their past history and how they can find inspiration through quotes to motivate themselves to do better, be better and be a part of the solution, not the problem. It discusses the social injustices, oppression and inequality African Americans have had to endure for the last 401 years. It touches on our everyday thoughts of love, success and failure, and also delves into our current day realities surrounding police brutality and reform, mental health issues, white privilege, the Black Lives Matter Movement and other issues that are prevalent in 2020.
“America needs some level of comfort right now to soothe their souls,” Adams says. “The year 2020 has been one hell of a year with COVID-19, unemployment, racial discourse, police brutality raging and a government that doesn’t seem to be for the people. Our normalcy has changed drastically and people are in search of peace. People are in search of inspiration and encouragement; hope and resolution. Motivating sources of light to rejuvenate and uplift them during one of the most difficult times our country has seen in decades. That is what this book does. It inspires.”
“Rhythm: Uplifting Quotes from the African American Perspective” aims to give enlightenment and understanding for all races and ethnicities as to what is still paralyzing the African American community as well as inspirational messages of encouragement and motivational ideas for navigating life with positivity and ingenuity from the perspective of an oppressed and oftentimes overlooked people … African Americans.
